Last week, the girls did the unit on The Sun, and are doing the unit on Mercury this week. I bought some posterboard yesterday and I'm planning on making a model of the solar system on the wall over the kitchen window of the sun and the 9 (8?) planets. Would love to do one or two of the experiments, but I may run out of time, since I have to work tomorrow.
OK, so the solar system model still hasn't come to fruition, but I still plan on doing it. The girls have now done the units on Venus, Earth, and the Moon, and are working on Mars this week. Problem--Sarah found the answers to the questions in the back of the book and has been using those to answer her unit questions...sigh. Now that I've indirectly called her out on it, hopefully that won't be a problem anymore.
Thinking about just skipping the experiments right now, and then just going back after the book is complete and do the experiments to review what we've studied.
The girls read and completed the book work on Unit 1 of Astronomy this week. They did this independently, while I was working yesterday.
